“Come Sophie, we’ve got to hide before they see us.” I whispered to her.Then Sophie and I ducked
behind a rock.“We’ve got to find a way out of here before someone catches us.”
Then a dark shadow fell over us. I glanced back to see what it was and there stood, a huge man, staring
straight at us.Then he shouted to another one.An angry look was on his face. He grabbed both of us and
headed towards a massive temple. On our way, the Terra-cottaWarriors stopped and looked at us.They
looked at us like they needed our help, all of them.
“Logan, where are they taking us?” Sophie asked in a trembling voice.
“I think they are taking us to Emperor Qin.” I said.“He’s the commander of theWarriors.” I was hoping
they would just let us go and do no harm to us. But as soon as we got there, the expression on Emperor
Qin’s face changed. He looked confused. He shouted at one of the guards, then the guard immediately
grabbed our shirts and took us to a chamber. In the chamber I saw clay men being made, and warriors
lining up.
“Oh no, I know what this is.This is where they killed the warriors then made clay versions of them.” I
knew we were in trouble, big trouble. I knew I had to do something, and I had to do it fast.
“Sophie, when I shout go, I want you to run to that exit as fast as you can, I’ll follow behind.”
“Ok!” She replied.
I waited for the guard to walk away. Good, he went to talk to the other one.
“GO!” Sophie quickly ran to the doorway, I ran just after.We sprinted as fast as we could; the guard
quickly turned around and followed us.
“Come on Sophie! Just a bit more!”Yes, we were out. I looked around to see if there was any way to get
out.Then I saw stairs leading out the pit. I ran to the stairs. I ran as fast as I could to them.
“Come Sophie.We just need to get to those stairs.”Then I heard Sophie shouting at me. I turned back
and saw the guards holding her by the exit. She was struggling, trying to get free.Then they started to
head back. I ran up to the guards and jumped on both of them. Sophie managed to get free.
“Run to the stairs over there!” I shouted to her. She started running to the stairs. I got up and followed
her.
“Keep going! I’m right behind you!” I glanced back at the workers.They watched us running, cheering as
we went. Sophie and I finally got out of the tomb.There was nowhere to go. I looked around for a while
but I didn’t see anything.We were stuck here, stuck here forever. Stuck in the middle of nowhere. I knew
we would never get back to the future. But then I thought of something. I finally had a plan…
